PhD Programme on "Biodiversity and Society"
The Georg-August-University in Göttingen is calling applications for 20 study places in the scope of the PhD programme 'Biodiversity and Society - social dimensions of the protection and use of biological diversity' starting 1 October, 2012.
Within the programme the use and protection of biodiversity shall be discussed and explored in a social science perspective. In this context, approaches of appreciation and valorisation of biodiversity will be developed. Hence, research is mainly directed to societal tradeoffs between the use and protection of biological diversity.
In order to develop an interdisciplinary perspective on the protection and sustainable use of biodiversity researchers of multiple disciplines, such as Agricultural Sciences, Economics, Biology, Legal Studies, and Philosophy will cooperate within the PhD programme.
