PhD Training Course "The Challenge of Earth System Governance: Agency, Accountability and Adaptiveness"

The PhD training course "The challenge of Earth System Governance: Agency, Accountability and Adaptiveness" aims to familiarize participants with key questions and issues of Earth System Governance in order to provide a better understanding in the causes of global change in an integrated manner. At the same time, in the scope of the course options for the governance of a transition towards sustainable development paths at global and national levels shall be developed.

The course will combine a number of theoretical and empirical lectures from recognized experts of environmental politics and governance with an interactive PhD Master Class seminar, in which students will be invited to present their work to their fellow colleagues and the invited speakers for comments and discussion.

The target group for this summer course involves PhD students within the field of environmental policy and governance.
