RESCUE Stakeholders Conference: "European Response to Grand Challenges in Sustainability Research"

Date:
16/05/2011

The "Responses to Environmental & Societal Challenges for our Unstable Earth" (RESCUE) foresight initiative, that is a joint COST-ESF "Frontiers of Science" initative, aims to help Europe in addressing scientific and societal challenges that are related to global environmental change. The goal is to stimulate an integrated, innovative response to these challenges from natural, social and human sciences.

The Conference will conclude the main RESCUE workplan, and present and discuss the main findings with a range of stakeholders.

The event is organized in thematic, plenary (related to research, education, society, governance, innovation, audiences) and integrative (roadmap implementation; importance feasibility; desirability; confidence; tools for monitoring progress; success metrics and risks factors) sessions. It will work towards the establishment of a common roadmap for the implementation of the key RESCUE recommendations.

If you wish to participate in the RESCUE Stakeholders Conference or to suggest experts in your research field, representatives of your organisation or key stakeholders that should be considered, please do not hesitate to send an e-mail to Dr. Bernard Avril  (fl-rescue@esf.org).
