Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM), a leading research institute on sustainable development (www.feem.it) is looking to recruit motivated and talented researchers to cover open positions within the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Research Programme.

Successful applicants would join a team engaged in analysing a wide range of issues about climate change and energy economics. They will have the chance to conduct research in any of the following research areas: integrated assessment modelling of climate and energy policies, economics of low carbon innovation and technological progress, game theoretical applications to environmental and climate change issues, modelling of complex economic and climate systems and decision making under uncertainty.

Requirements
Candidates should have (or be close to completion) a Ph.D. in economics or in science coupled with some economic background. Experience in modelling complex phenomena using both analytical and numerical methods is required.

The selected candidate will interact with researchers of different nationalities, and have the chance to present scientific papers at several conferences and workshops. FEEM offers a truly interdisciplinary workplace, with strong ties with a world-wide network of research institutions engaged in environmental research and in particular on the analysis of climate change issues.

Successful candidates are expected to begin their assignment in 2012. The appointment period can be up to 3 years, with an evaluation after the first one. Gross salary is competitive and will be based on qualification and experience. Duties will be carried out at the FEEM premises either in Milan or Venice, Italy.
