Researching Impact Assessment Methodology for Ecosystem Services
LIAISE partner CEH leads a consortium of academics and stakeholders looking at uncertainty and scale estimation within ecosystem services assessment tools. The team will be assessing tools to value the full impact of forestry expansion as measured by the suite of ecosystem services delivered by two sites with contrasting management policies in the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland on 14-18 May 2012.
During an earlier visit to the Tamar catchment in south-west England, a wide range of influences on water quality within the river and estuary system were explored and the stakeholder discussions identified how an ecosystem approach could bring new insights to impact assessment. Further information on this INQUEST project and all the other Valuing Nature Network projects in the UK are available on the network website.
