The Center for International Earth Science Information Network at Columbia University is recruiting a Senior Staff Associate to participate in a dynamic team of natural, social, and data scientists addressing interdisciplinary environment and development issues.The Candidate will contribute to projects focused on vulnerability and adaptation to climate change, environmental and societal indicators, environment/security connections, and Latin American studies. The position will involve field work in Latin America.

A Bachelors degree and 8 years of relevant experience are required, or a Masters degree and 4 years of relevant experience. The degree should be in geography, human ecology, or a similar interdisciplinary program combining natural and social sciences. Proven experience is required in working on environment and development issues, conducting field work overseas, and communicating through peer-reviewed publications and public speaking activities. Familiarity with geospatial and remote sensing data and processing is required as well. Oral and written fluency in Spanish required; knowledge of Portuguese is a plus.
