Special Issue on "Information and Communication Technologies-based Strategies for Environmental Conflicts"

Date:
31/01/2012

The journal "Strategic Behavior and the Environment" has issued a call for papers for a special issue on "Information and Communication Technologies-based strategies for environmental conflicts". This special issue is based on, but not limited to, contributions from the area of strategic behavior analysis dealing with multi-agents decision problems arising from the exploitation of environmental resources, and where ICTs are crucial for the selection or the implementation of environmental policies.

Particular emphasis will be given to contributions focused on ICT applications aimed to address one or more of the following tasks:

  1. providing a valuable contribution to sustainable environmental management by improving monitoring and response mechanisms aimed to coordinate environmental policies of different stakeholders;
  2. enabling more efficient allocation of natural resources or providing incentives for reducing the consumption of energy, water and other essential natural resources through more efficient procedures;
  3. designing ideal platform for communication and debate about environmental problems or to respond to environmental disasters, overcoming physical and social barriers and allowing the formation of special-interest social networks and virtual communities;
  4. defining incentives to support the right of access to information related to the quality of the environment (such as supporting the concept of open source for wireless, mobile phone and web-based applications).

Papers may be submitted until 31 January, 2012. You may send one copy attached to an e-mail to the following address: stefano[dot]moretti[at]dauphine[dot]fr.
